I'm not sure if there has been any mention of this case here at DG. A woman moved out of her house and left behind her German Shepherd locked in a crate with no food or water. They found it dead two months later. She admitted she knew what would happen to the dog, but her attorney kept up trying new ways to get her off, including saying someone else may have killed the dog. She claimed her new roomate "did not like dogs". The lawyer was trying to get evidence thrown out, but the judge came back yesterday and refused the request, so the woman will change her plea in December to "no contest" or "guilty" and the judge will sentence her. She could get a year in jail and a $5.000 fine. Animal lovers here have been in an uproar about this case. This woman even had a myspace page with pictures of Ella, and during the time this dog was dying, she talked about going dancing, etc. You can learn more about this case at www.voicesforella.org
