these are probably my favorite genus of Bromeliads.

Hey GQ, your garden looks great! I love the contrast with the red chip mulch. you're a Billbergia lover! I'm a Neoregelia lover, but do have a few Billies as well. Thanks for sharing
Sue
really nice GQ! I have my eye on an Aechmea 'Del MAr', which is very similar to your A. 'Blue Tango'. I have yet to convince the owner to part with a pup, and to find out what kind of money he will want for it. They don't seem to be available all that often, if at all!
More pics please!
Sue
Del Mar is a nice plant. You shouldn't expect to pay more than $15-20 for it. Have you ever though about ordering from Michael's Bromeliads in Sarasota FL? They are very reasonable and carry lots of great plants.
This is one of the first Billbergias I ever bought. I got it from Tropiflora about 9-10 years ago. I fell in love with the spots. Its called "De Nada"

This is one of the most rare plants that I own as far as broms go. The only one I have that is more obscure is probably Aechmea tayoensis.
This is the variegated form of Quesnelia marmorata. Its a very cool plant but very S-L-O-W to reproduce

That is nice! I have the usual Quesnelia marmorata, but I'd like that one!
In Australia we have very strict quarantine laws, so unfortunately purchasing plants from overseas is usually restricted unless you have a quarantine house and can pay for the customs officers to come and visit!
I have to go and take some pics again, as my puter had a hizzy fit, and I've ha to remove all pics and then reformat, so I haven't got any on the computer to upload! Guess you'd have seen most of mine in the other threads anyway?
Show me more of yours, and tell me what kind of a set up you have.
Sue
