Hay Gripe

Friend of mine from work called me about a month ago. Said he'd ordered he and I 20 square bales each of coastal fertilized hay. Great... I figured it'd be here in a month or so.

Friend called the hay guy today. :( Hay guy said, "I just need it to rain, and we'll get to cutting."

So, now I'm going to be limping through the early winter waiting on rain
to water the hay
so the grass will grow
and get baled
THEN I can go buy it and get it in my barn

Weather's not calling for rain for at least the next week or two. Wonderful...

I'm stuck paying the wild feed store prices now "until it rains" because I don't have any cheaper orders anywhere else.. since I was assuming the order was placed on hay that would actually be CUT soon,,, instead of this "waiting for rain" nonsense.
