Headly La Marr got her name after she was attacked by her house mates. Poor Headly was pecked and bloody. Her head completely bald. WE rescued her and nursed her back to health. She is a lap chicken and sleeps with the goat. She has a route she follows around the neighborhood. If she doesn't make her rounds we get phone calls asking if she is ok. Headly spends an hour or so each day with our teenager barred rock flock. She coos and calls the barred rocks but will put them in their place if they get choice morsels before she does. Headly is a famous bird in our neighborhood. Even the goat and all the cats rspect her.

What kind of chicken is Headly?
Headly is a Moyer's Production Red. Everyday she lays the most beautiful Large Brown egg under the goats hay bag. She hasn't missed a day since we rescued her from certain doom. This morning she let me carry her while I fed the goat and chickens their feed. She shared breakfast with our 5 geese much to their dismay. Now Headly is napping on the welcome mat on the back porch. Its snowing here this morning. Headly doesn't like to get her feet wet.

I was out there tonight.. FINALLY.. and doing my play with the chickens voice "Where's my chicken babiez.. Chicken Babiez.. where's my poops? Come on poopiez" and my maintenance man comes around the corner.. I was so embarrassed.. LOL
