fingerling potatoes: rating
dean, I grew some rose finn apple fingerlings but haven't cooked any yet. I'll try to remember to post taste results.
I love the Swedish peanut, but they are the only fingerlings I've grown.
What's a fingerling potato? Has a cute name. : )
This site rates potatoes on a scale of 1-5. Rose Finn seems to be only Fingerling type with a 5 rating but most of them are well above three. http://vegvariety.cce.cornell.edu/mainSearch/showAll.php?ID=42&sortBy=overallrating&order=DESC&searchIn=1

Oh my. How cute!!! Nothign liek seeing a new veggie ya haven't seen before. Do you eat them like regular potatoes?
Sorry Dean, had to see what I was missing out on.
Yes, just like any potato. I'm sure I will develop some favorite recipes for them as I use them.
I've grown Russian bananas for several years. I usually get 20-30 per plant. I've never had any problems with disease. They keep well (I store in unheated basement room), are great tasting roasted or nuked in the microwave. When I've missed harvesting some and have volunteers in the garden the next year, they're good, too! I highly recommend them.
I have grown and liked Russian Bananas as well -- haven't tried the others.
