A neighbor just asked me about this one. I *think* it must be a ginger but am not sure which it is.

ardesia,
it's a globba (dancing ladies ginger)...I love them but they aren't hardy here. I had one, 'Purest Angel', that looked very much like that one.

they are soooo pretty

I have a globba called 'white dragon' the flower looks the same but I dont think my foilage is that purple underneath. Whatever it is , it is really pretty.

Thanks, which ever it is, it is beautiful.

I have one of these flowering now. Bought it as a small plant a few years back from a nursery which said it was a "Thai Ginger" from Thailand. Considering there's so many gingers from Thailand, it's not much help, but it's a beautiful plant. Dies back in the dry season but shows up again every wet season.

This is Globba sp. Ie, it's not G winitii nor is it the white dragon G sp. nov. magnifica. Possibly an undescribed species. It looks to be in the same species as the jungle jewels series..I think purest angel was there name for the all white one. White dragon doesn't have the maroon undersides like yours does
