I was looking at my new Diamonds which i totally love by the way and i'm feeding them pet bird seed but i noticed their feet are pale and they act chilly not like their sick but just puffed up.
They are eating well in fact they are little pigs when it comes to that and the poo is firm.
I haven't had caged birds in years which those were finches those are cool too but i remember giveing them little drops in their water.
I thought that maybe someone here had caged birds and had some info on to vitamin or not to vtamin that is the question?
Do you think my Diamonds need vitamins?
Harmony, have you seen this site? It discusses diamond doves and nutrition in particular.

Thank you Cat love that site i bookmarked and will get all my info from there and others here can find out about them too.
I don't know about doves, but I have had cockatiels for gee, can it be 18 years now.
When cockatiels puff their feathers out it means they are cold. They get cold very easily, so I let mine sit by the furnace all winter.
When I see those puffed out feathers, I know what is wrong. It took me years to understand that though.
Thank you Light-for-Jesus
Harmony, the only other time I saw them do that was when they had lice. I just thought about that one. I sprayed them with oregano and they were fine.
LFJ sprayed with oregano? More info please.
Ok, I read online that you can take oregano (the kind you buy at the grocery store), put it in a pan, cover it with water, and boil it 10 min. Cool it. Strain it.
It kills lice and their eggs. I tried it, and it works.
Nontoxic solution.
