After the KY RU...Nanubunny and her DH gave me a ride back to Crossville, TN...My son and DIL (Keith & Donna) treated us to dinner at the resturant of Cumberland Mountain State Park....a wonderfu buffett!!
This was one of their desserts and they shared their recipe with us....YUMMY!!
CHOCOLATE COBBLER
Batter:
2 cups SELF-RISING FLOUR
1 cup SUGAR
¼ cup COCOA
1 cup MILK
½ cup OIL
TOPPING:
2 cups SUGAR
½ cup COCOA
Pour batter into 9 X 9 baking pan that has been lightly greased or sprayed. Sprinkle sugar/cocoa mix over batter. Pour 2-1/2 cups HOT water on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. (place a pan under this one to catch any boil-overs)
This can be doubled or tripled ….best served warm with Ice Cream or Whipped Cream.
