Hey Usha - how are you? How are those tabernaemontana-double-flore plena cuttings coming along?

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

Hi Chantell,
they will be mailed to you soon-prob one to two weeks. Our weather is still very HOT here to mail anything.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Chantell, was it a few cuttings or just one plant?

Chantele ... am I too late again? sigh

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

ALL: does anyone know or can someone check if root stock can be divided? I was going to cut mine back and ship out the root stock. I will have plenty of cuttings for whoever would like to try those. I've heard clematis is one of the more difficult ones to try and root but again, I have plenty so just let me know.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Chantell, they would probably know for sure on the Propagation forum, I'm new to all that so I have no clue.

Chantell
I'm going to withdraw my name due to space reasons. Thanks ... I got a little over zealous! LOL I'll be starting seeds in Jan/Feb and already have been making room for my tenders ... Good luck to everyone! sniff sniff LOL .

I have seeds, my friend...happy to share those as well. ^_^

PS Anyone waiting for Clerodendron seeds...I have misplaced them and will mail as soon as I find them.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Hey Birdie - my back yard is swamp like currently...I'm hoping for some dry weather between now and the weekend so I can get that thing dug up. There should be plenty of cutting if folks would like to attempt rooting it but I'm still not sure about dividing the root ball...gotta wait till I see it.

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

OK. It's been getting pretty cold here. I can't Even bring myself to mow, keep hoping for warm spell!

Everyone, be sure to look up Sweet Autumn Clematis before planting it... it can be a thug, and it may also be invasive in some areas (spreading by seeds). I've got one, and I do love the blooms, but this may be its last year if I can't get it to behave a bit better. I'm going to try cutting it all the way back. Seeds should be easy to come by in the trade forum if viola runs out... I don't think I saved any this year.

Chantell, I don't know about dividing root stock, but when you dig it up you might well find multiple plants at the base, given its tendency to self-sow.

I've moved my big one 3 times and never had it return in the same place. Now it covers one of those ugly telephone poles in the yard. I've had mine for about 10 years and just noticed the seedlings a few years back. Since they're easy to pull out in damp soil I don't consider it invasive myself--just enough to share and sell.
Here it's just starting and my perennial pink moonvine (unscented) is just opening or closing, lol.

A plant's potential to be invasive certainly varies by location. I suspect birds may be carrying seeds of mine further than I think. It can also be a thug with its rampant growth, but sometimes that sort of habit is just the ticket. I'm not trying to start a debate, just suggesting that people check the mixed reviews on PF for this plant and decide what will work in their garden. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/683/

Very true! I live in the middle of 18 acres and wouldn't mind it covering my hilly woods, but it hasn't yet. I do know about battling the wild honeysuckle!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

LOL - it has taken over one of my fences....and I cringe as I say it but NO, I've yet to detect a scent...at least not a wafting one. For me personally - either knock me out with your flowers (Passis) or your scent...or you go to a new home...which WILL happen by spring.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Mine smells sweet, but it's a light fragrance.
