I found this awesome site for diagnosing chicken problems.

Hope it helps some others.

That's a great one! Thanks Sheila! I have bookmarked it!

Good site but remember to use your own judgement when treating your birds and also consult others as we do here because the best information comes from those who have experienced these problems and can give you the information on how they treated and cared for their bird.
Then you will have the medical information but also information from someone who has actually had experience with it then you will have a better idea how to treat them.

Thats exactly what I am doing. See chicken diarrhea thread. But that is so true, sometmes we just jump to conclusions based on what we read. Speaking of jumping to conclusions......

Harmony - I found a black circle spot on one of my hens combs. Fowl pox or not. She seems to be healthy and lively, otherwise and I checked her mouth and throat and no problems there either.

Pox appears as a wart and thats just what it looks like about the size of a match head or smaller and it's a pale color.
Mine were on their combs, wattles, ears, and even on the neck of one that was missing a few feathers there.
Funny thing mine never did the spreading of the warts where they cover the face and ooz and there were 2 or 3 and they never got any bigger and with the iodine dried up in about 7 days.

Well I said it was on her comb, it is on her wattles. One spot the size of a match head that is black in color and a perfect circle. Will try and get a pick of it. But she doesn't seem to be sick or anything. Am I being a worry wart?

Mine never showed any sickness with the dry form it was if they didn't even have it.

I hope everyone is not looking at their chickens now and thinking they have pox i was told it wasn't that common in chickens.
