I would like to ask if someone knows where I could get some really nice pics of all of the chicken breeds. Yes I know that's a tall order considering how many there are.
I always ordered McMurray's catalogs because they have nice pics.
I am looking at all of the pics posted here in this forum and they are just beautiful.
Thank you for your pics everyone.

Chicken Breed Poster's or Pics
This is the best I know: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/BRKPoultryPage.html
I love the pics of all the breeds in the book called "Storey's Illustrated Guide to Poultry Breeds" by Carol Ekarius. It's a gorgeous book with amazing pics. And it has good information on the breeds too. I strongly recommend it for its "coffee table book" glamor shots!
Thank you Cmoxon.
Wish I could find a book that shows all of the colors and combos of the Serama's. I can't belive there are so many.
Hey there: We cross paths again. CMoxon is right,CarolEkarius Author of illustrated guide to poultry breeds is the very best olut there. P.S. I have some info on A great Serama Club, I will contact them and find out where you can get a book of Pics or posters on Seramas, then I will post it for you. Haystack.
Thank you Haystack.
hehehee my neighbor is coveting my serama roos. hahahahahahaa
Guess what he did, he wants one of my roos so bad--he gave me a whole bunch of hatching eggs. hahahahahahaa
Hey Cooperstone: I did indeed contact the Serama club, What they said was that Seramas do not breed true to any certain color, there is up to 2000, different colors, even when the same hen and cock are mating. Wow. Here is the e-mail address if you would like to read the material I read. www.littleamericaminis.com ) They are sure high priced for the class A pair. I was wondering what class your's was and how much you paid for them. I'm going to send for two pairs, but only after I shop around a bit. P.S. I just read an article about the cold weather hardiness in Back Yard Poultry, They said a serama owner in Michigan (that's cold weather) not only keeps Seramas in her barn, but in fact hatches them during the winter with only a heat lamp. Aprox heat temp is between 38-60degrees. Just wanted to pass the info along. Good luck this winter. Haystack.
Haystack I bought some hatching eggs and hatched them out.
My Serama's that hatched are not purebred. They are all Americans.
I want to get some purebred's and I plan on ordering more eggs but this time, it's going to be from someone who is recommended as being honest in their representation of their flock.
I have Class B. Class A's are tiny but unfortunately they don't lay very well. And good lord yes the prices are just way to high. Beautiful stock, but I am not going to spend that kind of money on a chicken. No even a blue ribbon winner. I can buy a lot of eggs from a really good source for that kind of money.
I will wait a bit longer and keep researching. Eventually I will get exactly what I want.
But, aren't those pics on the link you posted, just goregous????!!! Ohhhh (drooling now.)

cooperstone! You must be quite a gal, You always manage to make me laugh. Those seramas on that site I posted are gorgeous, and yes so regal looking. I'm with you, not even am I going to spend that kind of money on a chicken. I don't know when you are bound for Alaska, but next early summer when I visit my bro in Goldendale, I'm going to contact you and have you meet myself and my wife so we can take you out for dinner. Then if you pretty pleezzzzzzzzzz, you can show us your seramas. I would love to see some live. Also if you still have use for it I could bring you that radiator heater. Anyway as always it's great talking to you. Take care of yourself and the Ladies. Haystack.
