indoor mini gardens

Boise, ID

Hi,

I think this is my first post. If I'm in the wrong place just tell me where to go ;). I've been doing bowl sized mini gardens not knowing anyone else did for years. Mine were not as amazing however. I would like to do a magical mini garden indoors, as I live in a climate that freezes.

I didn't see any posts on indoor mini gardens, but I'm an airhead and I could have missed them. I'm also interested in forcing mini bulbs, etc.

Thank you for all of the magic pictures.

Mitsy,

LOL!! Hey we're all allowed a little bit of our own airheadedness... hey is that a new word??

I would think you are definitely in the right place.... for your mini gardens that is. Perfect title to your heading too, you shold get some help. This forum just started this year after a bunch of us DGers started to get involved in making Fairy Gardens. I know there is a gal on here that has made a Fairy Garden in an aquarium.... of course I can't remember her name to save my life (see I'm having a little air run through my brain at the moment too)

As for forcing mini bulbs... I dunno, you might want to ask that question over on the Bulbs Forum. I would try to help, but just started gardening myself about 6 months ago, so I'm no expert here :o) BTW... Welcome To Dave's!!!

Mitsy,
Look at the thread posts for folks creating terrariums for ideas on indoor mini gardens. I live in an area that freezes, too. The plants are alright outside, but I'm going through "mini-garden withdrawal" already, during this frosty season, lol.

Welcome to DG! I know you'll have lots of fun here.

If I didn't have a million other things going on in the winter (home schooling, selling on eBay, seed starting, other crafts, hanging out at DG (lol), etc.) I might consider an indoor garden - the minis are so adorable and you can do so much with them!
