Rothkirch x Kellifornia Ruthie hyb. Delisa Harvey

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I am so excited about this brug. In N. Calif. our pinks tend to bloom really light pink. This one opened a darker pink and has the large blooms of Ruthie, and I think got some nice trendils probably from Rothkirch. I am definitely going to over winter this one. It has med green med/lg. leaves with kind of a scalloped edge and a very strong pleasant frangrance.

There is nothing not to like about this seedling. Great color, very long tendils, and good form...sure shows what good genes can produce. Congratulations to you and Delisa.

WOW Patrica, that is so close to my ideal brug!

Does it have Ruthie's height? Ruthie right now is as tall as my 10 year old crape myrtle tree in my front garden. She stands so straight and so tall, a perfect standard brug.

One of the reasons I love Ruthie is she can be the darkest PINK of all my brugs that I get here in our nonhumid summers though right now she is pretty light.

I wonder if Delisa sent me some of these seeds. I need to go thru my seedbox! LOL And now I am going to collect some Ruthie pollen for my Rothkirch. Monkey see, monkey do!

Happy Birthday for the 3 rd time. LOL

Very lovely!

Those are some really nice tendrils on a really nicely formed flower. Congrats to you and Delisa. I think this one needs a really pretty name.

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

Wow congrats to you and Delisa this one is wonderful!!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

That is a beautiful flower. I love Brugs with a strong aurea influence. I didn't know about that color difference in pink Brugs until I sent a Rosamond cutting to my Mom in Fremont. She finally yanked it out because it never bloomed darker than a pale pink along the edge of the skirt.

If those blooms are dark pink there, I wonder what the color would be like in a hot humid location?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Kell, this one is about 7 ft. tall growing in the shade. I bet it would grow to the top of the first floor of the house in the sun.

bettydee, if it blooms over winter in the greenhouse, I should get a better feel for what the color will be in the southern states since it is more humid in there.

DeRidder, LA(Zone 9a)

What a beauty! I'm also interested in knowing how well her color would hold in a hot & humid climate. That dark pink is so flamboyant!

Congratulations to both you & Delisa!

Patricia, I'm in NW Florida - I'll trial it for southern heat! LOL

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Happy Brithday Patricia !Hope you have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Brug ! Congrats to you and delisa, would love to trial it for you in SDouth Texas.. Hot and Humbid weather! No winter to speak of!

She is quite something ...loving everything about your beautiful Angel any ideas on a name yet?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you ladies, I will keep you in mind, however Delisa will get the first piece. This one grew straight up and bloomed shortly after making it's Y, so nothing to cut on right now.

It will be up to Delisa whether this one will be named after it is trialed.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

I was just trying to make a funny, Patricia - I know you have 'regulars' that trial for you.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Actually I don't Kay, I just need to make sure that Delisa gets the first cutting since it is her cross, and that I follow hybridizers rights.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Make sure you send Delisa 2 pieces of her, Patricia.

I get grandmother rights. LOL

Chickenville, FL(Zone 9a)

I wanted to say, that Kellifornia Ruthie was Kells seedling and Delisa used the pollen on her Rothkirch so thank you both ladies.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

PatriciaI really like it! Really there is not one thing I can say bad about it. When I saw those huge aurea seed when I opened the pod I fell in love then. Seed lover....

Thanks Kelley for letting me grow out 'Ruthie'
