The Longest Tendrels

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

I'd like to see a few of the brugs develop the long long tendrels.. I'd sure like to get some Tacca polon... :)
any thoughts about this cross helping...
SO.. a Poll...which presidential...no which Brug do you think has the longest tendrels...
Tendrel is a Tibetan word for auspicious coincidence. It signifies moments that we come to see as the beginnings of meaningful connections. ...
OK.. this is a picture of Engelsglockchen X Lilac 1 she's got about the longest ones here..

Three of our hybrids do here: Delilah, Minuet, and Dreamy.
I love these brugs and their daddy long legs tendrils :-)

Northern Peaks does a pretty good job of showing long tendrils here. This picture was taken two summer's ago. I no longer have this brug, unfortunately.

Gordon, I love the color of your brug. Nice tendrils. Do you remember the days when tendrils were 1 inch or shorter and that was all we had? Things have really changed.

Nice picture, Christa. She is a slow grower, isn't she. Maybe not a slow grower, but just a small plant. She always was small for me.

So Gordon, if you want this poll to go anywhere, you need to bring out the ruler! Those on Northern Peaks seem to go on forever. Now if only the tendrils were on an orange or yellow Brug....

Hi Christa,
I need me an Northern Peaks ... lol
Nice one, Shirley :-)

Here is Minuet.
NO measuring wars. I like both.

I'm with Bettydee, orange and yellow both with long tendrils would be welcome in my yard. So would the white one that Alice has posted. Minuet is very pretty Alice.

Stop showing me these great pictures. I'm on a 12 step program to wean myself away from this Brug obsession.

Great pictures!

Lol, I need to join you in your next 12 step program.

Gordon, Christa, Shirley, & Alice gorgeous pictures!

Shirley or Christa, Is Northern Peaks similar to Orange Sunshine in size? O.S. can be grown in a hanging basket and was curious if you could do this with Northern Peaks as well. All that beautiful pink color would be a sight hanging from a basket!!

Alice, I'm a fan of white brugmansias and your Minute is a must have for my moon garden. What is her fragrance like? I'll be getting in touch with you soon.

Thanks, Shirley :-) Are you still growing brugs?

Fragrance for Minuet is excellent.
Delilah which will be new this year has long tendrils, also .. though not as long as Northern Peaks or Minuet.
Does this peach one have a name?

Hooked long ago and still hooked, I doubt I will ever be weaned away from brugs .. lol

Gordon I like the tibetian explaination for the word tedrels. Thanks for sharing that.

I notice some of my brugs actually use thier tendrils like the vines do. I had one by the fence and the flower tendrils were hooked around some jute that was there. Kind of stabilizing itself I guess...That must be what they are meant for in nature?

Alice, I'm not growing brugs right now. With Jim's illness, it's best that I can devote my time to him now. Brugs may come back later.

Lenette.. great ght itasanattractant .observation.. I'd always thought of it as an attracting aspect..waving about..or a place for a moth to sit while they probed the flower.. .. I'd liketo get some 3' long.. and have crawling insects do some pollinating or not.. If I had one like that.. the tendrals would have me out there all the time probing them myself.. such tendrils would definately be a spur to them setting seeds..
going to get out my Ruler..I'm sure they are under a foot [ NOW ]....what's wrong with measureing. it..... just don't take it personally..

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

When talking about long tendrils let's not forget Rosalie....not as long as northern peaks but it's up there with the top twangers!
