My Poor Brugs.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

My poor brugs. are blooming and trying to bloom and they are standing out there shivering and shaking. It is very cool here today and it is going to be the high 60 and the low 39 this next week. I have one that hasn't even bloomed at all yet but is full of buds. I just hope they hang on and finish blooming before I have to cut and bring some in. :(

Makshi, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you on seeing those blooms before frost takes them out. I finished up my brugs. move inside yesterday and it was hard to cut off the blooms and buds from my plants. Several plants had not bloomed at all and were loaded with buds. :( Good luck!

Makshi,

are they in pots? If not, could you pot them up and move them indoors by a window or bright place?

I have read that if you keep them indoors growing they will flower earlier in the year, compared to cutting the plant down to the ground.

I have a big brug in the garden and as it started growing during spring a late frost killed it. It took a long time for it to recover and grow again so I had about 5 flowers instead of the hundreds I had last year.:o(

I made a big cutting out of one of its branches. It is about 5 feet tall and I am keeping it in the kitchen in a bucket of water and some peroxide. It is rooted now and it has 3 Ys so i am hoping for early flowers next year.

good luck:o)

I am running out of room. I live in a very little house and there are plants and pets everywhere. I have 2 trees I have to bring in plus 2 4 or 5 ft. cactus and several other large pots. It gives me a headache. I swear I live in a garden with all the dirt here and there. I don't even have the use of the dining table for the rats and plants.

just like my house!:o)
