CLOSED: Wanted: Black flowered rooted plants/bulbs/rhizomes 4postage

Santee, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm in the process of making a portion of my flowerbeds with a "Black Only" theme. So far the closest I have are the Queen of Night tulips. I would gladly pay postage for any rooted plants or bulbs/rhizomes/etc. of any plants that produce black flowers.

Thank you,
~melissa

I know you’re looking for plants here, but I have some seeds with “black” or dark flowers, and I can send them in the with the zinnias if you’d like :-)

Sunny, REALLY??? Oh Todd would love that. I am making this special garden of balcks/deep purples, marroons, etc. Just for him. I would also like to do a "Green" only section as well.... any suggestions??

Thank you so much my sunshine sista :o)

It would be my pleasure, Lissa! :-)

Oh isn't the echinasea (sp) just GORGEOUS!!!??? I've seen it in some online sites, but talk about pricey....$20 average for just ONE plant....mmmffff I have some bells of ireland, and I think we may be getting some green zinnias in the trade,so I'm off to a decent start at least :o)

I got that Echinacea on sale pretty cheaply online, after drooling over it for quite sometime. It finally showed up on my doorstep a few weeks ago…it has no root system to speak of, and three teeny tiny leaves. Oh well, maybe it will grow up some day? LOL.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! I think you need that calla lily though…it’s green, and you are the queen of the callas, right? ;-).

Santee, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh bummer about your Echinacea....I'm sure with all the love and "talking" it will receive from it's Mama, you'll have it blooming in no time....just remember to save seeds, hint hint.

I do have 2 Green Goddess Callas and even a Mint Julip.... a really pretty light green with a bit of cream throughout. I'll have better blooms next year. My GG haven't gotten tall anough to produce any blooms this season, so next season *finger crossed*

OH, I found a Green AND a Black rose on ebay...from the same seller. I
ll have to grow them from seed, but I'm gonna try it.

I want greens, Todd wants the blacks, and Christopher wants blues.... so sweet, the whole family getting invovled in the garden.

OH yeah, I got a Pond Catalog from Dr. Fister & Smith.... so I can drool a little more and pout to Todd, but with pictures in hand this time....hee hee hee

How's your little baby doing?

Yep, you are definitely on the right track! Your color themed gardens should be beautiful! I’ll dmail you in a bit once I figure out what “black” seeds I have, so you can decide what you’d like :-).
