First Dark-eyed Junco Sighting!

I saw a Darkeyed Junco this morning while out on my walk this morning...I could not believe my eyes!!

Of course this one maybe just passing through...ya think???? lol

Last year we didn't have them in the yard until November.

But they could have been around in the woods before then.

Not ready for them to show up.....that means summer is really over! LOL

Yes, usually I notice dark-eyed juncos in my yard by November.

It'll be nice to have them again soon, as well as the white-throated sparrows. They provide much-needed consolation as the temperatures plummet and the days grow darker.

Nice pictures Nanny. I can't wait for my winter birds to show up! I don't like cold weather but I'm tired of seeing the same ol' birds everyday. come on down!

I finally saw one yesterday...it landed in the Persimmon tree amongst the beautiful ripe fruit...I missed a great pic...grrr...!
