So, I went to an auction

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

Caught your attention didn't I?
It was very interesting and I learned you have to be very careful and watch & buy with your head and not your heart.
We did bring home a few new borders..
a pair of Black-tailed White Japanese Bantums
3 rabbits (for fur)
2 guinia pigs (for love)
2 kittens (in a squished wet paper box marked in pencil, free take home.. in the parking lot, getting scooted about, of course I had to look in the box) And I needed a barn cat.. twos company.
And Adam.. a pigmy buck.. (who greatly respects me.. and bows when I enter his pen.. but proceeds to pee on himself when dh walks in, he is for my angora goat, shes not here yet)

So instead of posting them in 10 places, today I just added them to my website that I have been ignoring.. I really need to get back there and stick with it.
Please go visit and see my new familiy members:

How fun!
Am I the ignorant one, or was that wabbit really born with all that eyeliner? Yeowza! Too pretty!

The guinea pigs are darling.. Love your photos!

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

Isn't she BEAUTIFUL... yes, that is natural and what is really cool.. it is perfectly the same on the other eye..
thus the name Cleopatra..

Jordan, not sure of age on birds... they are not too big.. way smaller than my silkies... i don't much about them.. I just thought they were cool.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

OK, I'm upset - are you making a fur coat out of the rabbits? That isn't nice....

I love the guinea pigs, they are adorable.

The goat is a sweetie and so cute - and hilarious to read his reactions to you and DH!

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL... no I am not making a fur coat... let me answer you with a question.. why were you looking at pygoras?

My sister and dau both spin fiber.. the bunnies, pygoras & kitties are fir their fiber (fur)
You brush em.. not kill em... silly girl!

Adam, the goat, sang sweet nothings to me from across the field while I hung the clothes on the line today... dh isn't impressed with him... I told him to stand up to his challange and pee on him... get the male ego thing over and move on!!! LOL

(Zone 7b)

Do you mean DH pee on the goat or the goat pee on DH?

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

dh pee on the goat... the goat already stares at dh and pees all over himself then rubs his face in it.. I say he's in love.. lol

(Zone 7b)

Well we got a dog that hikes on everything one day he peed on my DH's shoe So my DH returned the favor that dog never did it again.LOL

Clarkson, KY

The goat is just proving himself more manly by self anointing. That is the only way to out manly a billy and I wouldn't recommend it!!

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

why not grow.. please expand.. if it can be done on a family shoa

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

OK, now I get it. I am over the fur coat thing! LOL!

Clarkson, KY

I really think it's something private that each man (or billy) should decide for himself and his family...rrggggh, should we quit while we're ahead? or are we still ahead?

Rankin, IL(Zone 5a)

ok.. I see your point grow.. WHat I want to know.. is, if I am the leader of the ranch.. head roo, biggest billy..etc... why would Adam see the need to show dh how manly he is?? or does he just want a step up in the pecking order??

or... maybe I am not the reining queen around here like I think I am..

You are the Queen Mother. Nobody messes with The Queen Mother.

Clarkson, KY

I see now. Sorry 'bout that. DH needs to strut around like the dominant man that he is (over billies anyway) and act like he could care less what they do in a general way. But it is VERY rude to self anoint while the boss man is around. I'm not sure how he should tell the billies this, but they need to know he's boss.

My DH was disturbed by the four month old Marans (muy macho) roo strutting around the yard. He seemed to take it as a personal challenge. I seem to be missing something about male inter-species competition.

The leader of the family unit needs to dominate mentally so that he can lead physically in our all too human world. That keeps everyone calm and keeps the peace -think kids who never get told no- outta control

Maybe Frans DH should just step right 'in their faces' stspk,(think Crocodile Dundee) when they start pulling that kind of stuff. THEY know that they are being rude.
