My babies are 2 weeks old.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Bought these the day they were hatched, October 1.
They are eating like crazy & growing very fast.
They are "Gold Star" breed, brown egg layers.
125 & we haven't lost any yet.

These are our "ladies". Most are Production Reds. They began laying about 6 weeks ago. Most eggs are large now & they are laying about 85%.

your chickies are beautiful. I have about 175 hens and roosters of various breeds, but they are not laying now. Only about 15 eggs a day. how can I get my egg produciton up? Remeber that I just had broncitis run thru my flock and kill 19 of my birds. This has been about 4 weeks ago since all have recovered. Does it take longer for egg production to resume?

We have a bunch of older ones that lay very little. We now took them off of egg mash & are feeding them a fattening ration. They will become stew in a short time.
Older hens don't lay very well & all hens need a feed about 16% protein to lay well.

Are those the chicks i wanted to sit in the middle of ?

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Yep!

(Zone 7b)

They are still so cute do you ever go in there and hold them?

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

They are to flighty. That's why they are all over on the side of the pen.

Belchertown, MA

I'll bet if Harmony had gone and sat in the middle, they'd be less flighty :)

(Zone 7b)

They would be rotten i have to hold mine back when i open the pen door. When they see me comeing they get so excited they run to the door and are just running all over each other trying to be first at the door.
I have opened it and they will be so mashed up against the door when i open it they just tumble out.
