Yellow Rumped Encounter!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I got several shots of this Yellow-rumped Warbler yesterday. So I though I would put them here all together instead of all over the daily pics thread.

Hope you enjoy!

There times when this bird was close enought that I could have easily reached out and touched it.

Seeing it upclose was really neat. The colors on it much more vibrant to naked eye.

Nice pics!

It's probably come down from some remote area of the Canadian taiga, and has never seen a human before.

Nice shots, nanny. A few have returned here, but none have come close enough for a pic yet. I can always recognize them when they fly over, something about their flight pattern.

Oh lordy, that is a scary thought...Me the first human it's ever seen!

It's looking RIGHT At me!!

Nanny, what a great series of shots. Beautiful little bird.

Nanny. I have one that stops off here each spring, stays a week or so, and is gone!

It is, indeed a pretty bird. Very shy though. Even the song sparrow bosses it around.

Here's a shot that shows the rump.

Very nice pics, Dave. The staring pic nanny posted reminded me of this one from last year.

Nice series of pictures nanny. You certainly were lucky to have such a cooperative model. I finally got a few shots of a Yellow-rumped Warbler last May, after numerous tries. The bird I photographed was constantly moving around, about 20 feet up in the trees. This was my best shot.

That's true, most of the Yellow-rumps I have seen are constantly on the move.

This little one was moving all over...just that we were so close that I was able to follow it and it seemed to stop and "pose" ...almost make sure I was still watching! lol

I got very frustrated trying to get a good pic in the spring. I spent countless hours trying!

Thanks for the compliments ya'll
