MED: Are Rasberry and Blackberry Leaves Basically Same

I've read that blackberry and rasberry are the same species. Are their uses the same? Here blackberry is native and rasberry is'nt.

I found 2 sources for rasberry-blackberrys
Red rasberry - Rubus ideaus L -an astringent leaf tea for dysentery and diarrhea,pregnant women and painful menstruation. The blackberry-Rubus occidentalis is used similarly
