Stacey,
Where did you see that guy? Hope you had a nice long weekend with a trip included.

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Thanks y'all! We see them occasionally in our neighborhood lakes. My friend Karen, now skyecat here at DG, put a duck box in her pond and it gets used every year now. She gets lots of Moorhen babies and waders that come knock on her door for a handout. Can you imagine a knock at your back sliding glass doors and then to find it's a Wood Stork?

LOL Weeds, we ended up at Bok Tower in Lake Wales this past weekend. What a beautiful place, This is as much of the tower as I could get in the photo being so close. On the other side is the brass door, the reflecting pond and Edward Bok's grave

What incredible birds the wood ducks are. Wonderful photo, Floridian. I was unfamiliar with them until DG and particularly duckmother's threads and postings.

BTW and pardon my ignorance from the other side of the world, but who was Edward Bok?

Very handsome woodduck!

Thanks Resin. There are several Cabbage Palms, Sabal palmetto, that were planted by President Coolidge and his wife the day of the dedication in 1929. More were planted at the 50th anniversary.
