Red leafed bush w/fringed deep pink flowers

Katy, TX(Zone 8b)

starting to bloom here in the Houston area and darned if I can remember the name. Think it is "lori"-something or other. Went to plant files and ended up getting all the daylilies w/any pink in the flower. Feeling like a goof. There are evidently two distinct bushes w/the same common name. The shrub is evergreen so to speak w/a good deal of red in the leaves especially now. The other stays more green but the ends do turn that deep pink. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

Could it be Loropetalum?

Friscoflora, you are an angel in disguise! Not knowing any other name for it and knowing what it looked like but not how to spell Loropetalum (or even knowing how to pronounce it) I was at a loss. I don't remember where I became aware that there were 2 different plants - perhaps at a nursery - but I see here at my house that there are 4 plants - the greener ones at the ends and the two redder ones in the middle under one wide window. Prior to our moving in here it has been sheared to within an inch of it's life but kept getting bigger. This next year many of the mature shrubs in the yard are going to be cut back 1/3 rd to keep them from reaching the gutters. If the plants survive, they survive; if they die they die. I rule the plants and not the other way around. As shrubs get bigger they don't always look all that good and it's better to prune drastically to give them new life.
Thanks so much for the name!!!

Ann
