I have 2 hens and they have just started laying and their roo is the one with the pox he has not been with them about a week are the eggs they are laying still fertile or should i just toss them.
Fertility question
I think some will probably still be producing fertile eggs. According to Damerow, single comb birds tend to remain fertile longer than other combs! It can be as long as a month! But more often 10 days. So you could still have fertile eggs.
They have just started thanks Cat and i was hopeing they were still fertile.
I had said to claire earlier that i wasn't getting any eggs and i went down to the chickens and found 3 eggs WOO HOO maybe i can have the redneck wagon train when mine hatch LOL!!
yep cat i am pretty sure u are right but i was told 14 days but your book is probably right all hail the all knowing poultry book
I want on the redneck wagon train. I have my own horse and love to cook. Maybe you could just call me "cookie" the grub master.
I have heard that to make absolutely sure you have pure breds, you have to have them separated for a least one month. I think most say that it is 10 - 14 days.
Harmony hope you have some potential babies there. Will be waiting for you instructions as to camp cook assignment!
Sheila "cookie"

Try the spooky needle thing -if it moves they're fertile.
