This one has a reputation for deformity. This bloom isn't too bad for first of the season (while it's still hot too). I do love the color she is getting this time of year.
Pink Perfecktion
Wow that is beautiful how long does it take for them to bloom ? I have one that has not bloomed yet but it is still growing.
Very pretty dubba, Gary.
Yes, its still hot here in Florida. I'm surprised this one bloomed so well.
Looking forward to those cool evenings when the aroma of Blooming Brugs has me wheezin' and sneezin'.
I do have a Ylang Ylang tree blooming full bore right now. Can hardly breath with all that Chanel #5 oozing all around the yard.
Here's a toast to great things to come this season, Gary!!
Nice full bodied color indeed. I have Lisa blooming for me over here. She is a bit small and oddly very light with a dark pink inner skirt that doesn't seem to want to drop. I much prefer the skirts like this one that drop a bit.
Beautiful Gary. How often are the blooms deformed?Maybe the good color makes up for a few deformed blooms.
Thanks for sharing. I'm hoping mine will bloom before frost (first time).
JT it did have a fairly high percentage of deformed blooms when it was a young plant. This plant is almost 3 years old and has really produced some beauties, so I have used her a bit in my breeding program. I would like to see if these traits get passed along into the next generation or is it a recessive trait that can easily be overcome by breeding her back into brugs with consistently solid blooms....as with any breeding program only time will tell.
