Peanut x Rosalie

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

I have several seedlings of this cross but this is the first one to bloom. This seedling is from a bunch of seeds i purchased on ebay 2 years ago. So far this "just about to open" bloom has a couple of things going for her. First off I love nodding type blooms. Secondly she has some nice tendrils developing, which in my book is always a plus. The first thing that this plant (actually all the seedlings of this cross) have going fro them is the fact that they did very well during the long hot summer here in south florida.
I'll update this post with the progress of this bloom. You'll have to excuse the ripped calyz. i was too anxious to find out whether or not it was a double or a single......definitely a single, but a single with some nice twangers!! I sure hope she gets some nice color as well. :D/
You guys have to remember that temps here are still in the 90's or close to it so for me to see blooms from this new seedling so early in the blooming season is a real special thing for me.

That cross ought to be pretty. It already has nice tendrils!

well done congrats on this one for sure..........James

Watching eagerly here too

I completely understand. I have 5 buds on a MM x The Chief cross, and I had to slap myself not to get out my pen knife for some pre-bloom surgery.
I do squeeze with wild abandon though. Looking for unusual lumps, bumps and humps.
:-)

Good luck with this one, Gary.

She has begun opening up this evening and although hard to tell in the night time photos she is also beginning to color up a bit, showing a hint of pink along the back spines of the corolla.
