I brought a long stem of passiflora ( I think it is 'incense') from my sister's in the hope to root it. I stripped all the leaves and blooms off, cut in app. 6" pieces, being careful to leave a node at the bottom and top. I put them in a clear plastic cup with about 2 " of water. After about 10 days I started seeing tiny leaves appear from the node areas. They have continued to put on more leaves and look really good--- except no roots yet. I started this on Sept 4th and still no roots. Can someone tell me what I should do next? Do I put them in soil? I did this with some I had gotten from her earlier and they all died.

Need help rooting a passiflora
I have not had much success rooting passis with water. I have done better with just sticking them in a pot of moist dirt and putting it in a shady place. However, I still have a low success rate with incense that way. It seems some passis root easier than others. Perhaps your sister could find a volunteer and dig it for you? Incense spreads like crazy.
Thanks Fancy, I still have them in water and no roots yet. It has been since Sept 4th. There are some cute little leaves and they look healthy,,, but no roots. I put a bit of Super Thrive in the water yesterday. I change the water every few days to keep it fresh. Still trying !!!
Thanks for your help,
jana
Let us know how they did....
Fancy, did your's root in the soil? I am beginning to think these aren't going to in water. I am going to put some in soil and see what happens.

Yes. Mine rooted in the soil. I had ordered one that was real scraggly so I just cut some pieces off and stuck them in the soil that the original plant was in. It was springtime and the pot was outside on my patio. It received morning sun. It took off like crazy.
