What's been throwing me is the white looking head, I have not seen any like that. I did see a few films of Merlins up in the air, and they look somewhat similar seen high up, so you may be correct. Thanks for venturing a guess.

Sure! A Merlin would have a white throat visible from below, maybe this individual has more white there?
From what I've seen of falconers' birds, they are often hybrids, so who knows..

It seems to have some Aplomado Falcon characters, but certainly isn't a pure one (tail much too short, for starters). Yes, correct that a lot of falconry birds are hybrids these days.

That white head even had me wondering about Caracara for a moment, tho' only a short moment!
