Owen is getting a sister tomorrow-

I just came from visiting with her and I think she will be a good companion for him. I have never been 100% comfortable with his being an "only dog", and he is getting increasingly clingy lately.
She is six years old and was an owner surrender because they had a baby :(
I am bringing her home tomorrow morning- wish us luck with the introduction process.
She didn't particularly engage with me- she would back into you to be petted, I could handle her all over but she avoided making eye contact. After I sat with her a while she glanced at me a couple of times but seemed more concerned with going somewhere. She is six years old and has been at the shelter for four months. She looks very sturdy and active, though, and I think she can handle Owen just fine- I just hope he doesn't overwhelm her. I will of course supervise closely and intervene if necessary.
I am cautiously optimistic :D
