I know that it looks bad now, but..........

I can see the possibilities!
We had some trees cut down a few weeks ago. I ask the tree man to leave this stump for me to make a fairy house and garden out of.

I've already got a fairy door and lots of other decor for it but I've got a LOT of cleaning up to do before I can put them out.
Any ideas on plants that will grow and look good around this?

I can't wait to see what you do!

The ''sticky '' at the top of this forum has some good ideas on plants.
I think a small leaved vine of some sort would look good climbing up the stump.
Sun or shade? I have seen some great little hostas this year.
Will be watching your project.^_^

I spent some time today just playing, moving things around and such. I am a long way from being finished with it.
I had some pansies and snapdragons so I planted a few just to see how it would look. I had a few pebbles that I threw around and then went over those with some sand. I don't really like the way the sand looks so I am going to get some more pebbles to go over it.

This will be my fall garden for now, I'm going to try and change it with the seasons. I found the little pumpkin and acorn at a craft store, the little gnome at a dollar store, the mushrooms, bench and snail at a thrift store.

This is in a sunny area right next to our carport. It's the first thing you see before you walk into our back door. The stump is pretty big so I have lots of room to add more houses and gardens around it. Like I say, it's a work in progress but I sure am having fun with it!

Another thrift store find that I will try to work into the garden somewhere around the tree stump. I think that it was a mini water fountain, it's nice and heavy.

Love everything. I found a fountain with fairies on top, no pump etc. but discovered that it plays Amazing Grace..........all for 95 cents less my 20% discount. Maybe next spring I'll start a tiny garden, have a few little things I picked up at thrift store. Love that fairy door too.

looking good!

I love the little thrift store accessories you found. :0)

Here is a pic someone did of something similar...maybe you could put a roof on your stump, like this one?

That is one of the cutest ideas seedpicker I've seen in a long time. Now I'm going to have to find me a tree stump so my gnomes can all live in one place.

I just love the roof on the stump! That is a great idea and the morning glories is an excellent plant to grow up the stump.

I have since pulled up the pansies and snapdragons that I planted and replaced them with some small growing hosta. With winter coming on the plant selection is not very good but I'm looking for some small flowering bulbs to plant now that will come up in the spring.

I am so excited to find this. Last week I asked librarians to help me research fairy gardens for my new project. They really got into it! I'll have to tell them about this forum...
Thanks to all of you.
