Fall Hibiscus Rooting

Are hibiscus cuttings picky about the season they are rooted in? I have a barn (not as warm as a green-house but warm enough for my plants to survive the winter) and would like to try and root some hibiscus cuttings over the winter to share with my sisters early summer next year...is this wishful thinking?

Hibiscus are picky about rooting all the way around, WestTX. But if you want to have any chance of success, a warm place would be much better - really warm if possible.
