I am new to gardening and would like to learn more about gardening by the moon. I use google calendars for a lot of things and thought it would be neat to use a google one for gardening by the moon.
Any one know of a google gardening by the moon
Not that I've seen. The Farmer's Almanac usually has gardening moon signs in their newsletters... not terribly concise. Everything else is for sale either in book form, or an actual annual calendar.
this one is not free, unfortunately.

I ordered the calendar from the link Moonglow posted, I can't wait to get it.
It will be great to plan several months ahead if I so choose.
It has a lot to offer http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/912983/
This link is to a free monthly calendar I've used for over a year.
I've never been quite sold on it's accuracy, but found it so much easier to follow than OFA.

Dove
Dove, did you order the correct one for your planting season? I accidentally ordered the one for deep south one year...
Hi Darius,
I hope I did, I ordered the medium season. I just didn't think we qualified for short season
That's one of the cool things about the calendar... that's it's set up for different zones. How cool is that.
I'd say you did; our zones are about the same... I've been using her calendars for about 6 years now, as my regular calendar AND to make notes of what I planted when.
I'm glad to hear you like it. I consider that a very good recommendation *S*
I got one a couple of years ago and accidentally got the medium season one. This time I ordered the long season (duh) and got the 2008 calendar for $5. There's still gardening to do down here.
My daughter who lives in Corpus just planted some tomatoes and potatoes I believe.
She's been in Corpus for 9 years and has never has success with tomatoes, maybe because she planted them in the spring like she did in California.
She hopes maybe this time it will work
I cut mine back when they stopped fruiting in the spring instead of pulling them up. They've started fruiting again, though not a lot and the 'maters are cracking a lot. I planted some seeds and they're thriving, though, so I hope to have some before the cool weather sets in.
I've been checking in with this website lately trying to keep up with when the best times to plant by the moon and other planets.
www.the-gardeners-calendar.co.uk/Moon_Planting.asp
I guess they are out of the UK so the times will have to be adjusted to US hemisphere ~ but it gives an idea of what planets are in play.
PS: Perseid Meteor Shower late tonight ~ August 12th near the constellation of Perseus. Check it out tonight if you have clear skies and a dark place to look up and get a good view of the sky.. best times are supposed to be between 12am and 5am.
Thanks, I'll check it out. I have a daily moon sign widget on my blog, but it really doesn't specify gardening.
They don't have enough moon sign things for us to check. I keep almanac on my desk so I can check to see what is
needing to be done. I'm using a Blum's Farmers and planters almanac, then I mark my calendar the things that I use.
Feel guilty when i cut something and it doesn't say I should. Know I got to do it though.

Don't know what I did wrong on that last website, but this one is really good.
Man, that was a good one. I added it to my favorites so I'll have it next year. I guess it will
work in my time zone. Thanks.
