question about varieties?

Pawleys Island, SC

Hi everyone,
are night blooming cereus, queen of the night, and epi. oxypetalum all the same plant? Thanks

(Zone 1)

There are a few with the same common name "Queen of the Night".

Epiphyllum Oxypetalum has the common names of "Night Blooming Cereus", "Dutchman's Pipe" and "Queen of the Night": http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2443/

Here's some info regarding other's with the same common name: http://web.missouri.edu/~riceg/epiphyllum/

Thanks , I had some and they all had different names, but looked like the same plant to me.

There are a lot of colors, flower shapes, growth habits and blooming time and a couple of different species that are all lumped together. I have a bunch and you can not tell most apart .

The cereus and the epiphyllum oxypetalum are different plants that share the same names.

I guess I will just add them to the list of noids. Thanks
