my brug's branches have a mind of their own

One of my brugs seems to have gone mad.
the branching is all curly and wierd looking

the branches dont grow straight
they bend and curl, in some unusual ways

why is this ?

can someone chime in?

thanks ,
Mamamia!

could it possibly be insect damage to the limbs when they are young? Just a thought... charging camera batteries.. that is part of the decision making when shoping for a camera... does it take over the counter batteries when needed? LOL (that made the decision on my last purchase)

Mother2Seven, I have a baby Mon Amour de Muriel that does the same thing. Even the leaf stems are curly. I don't have an answer but surely someone does. Peg

What is the brug? Some are more prone to do this. My Miss Emily did that for a long time. I didn;t think it would ever get nice branches. Alas, it has and looks good now.

I have a few seedlings that grow that way too ...I think it is just peculiar to some types of Brugs ...providing they are otherwise healthy.
