What is the best way to prepare squash seeds for saving? Do they need to be fermented like tomato seeds or just cleaned? What is the best way to clean them?
Seed saving question
No need to ferment squash seeds - when it comes to saving the seeds they make up for all the fussing over hand pollination with being easy about cleaning and handling the seeds.
They just need to be cleaned and personally I don't do anything special when it comes to the cleaning. I just scoop them out, separate as much of the non-seed material as possible then wash off what's left in a bowl of water before patting them down and setting them out to dry.

Thanks a million. I'll work on it tomorrow. My squash did well this year. I had yellow crook neck and yellow patty pan. Both were delish!
