I have Rockwell beans - these are a Coupeville, WA (historic city in central Whidbey Island) heirloom. They are a small bush shell bean that makes an especially good baked bean. They are white with varying amounts of maroon red speckling (there's a scan of some samples of the beans loaded in my have list).
I'm offering 25 seeds per trade in exchange for any unique heirloom bean varieties (heirlooms that aren't readily available retail). If you have any extra family heirloom or other interesting bean varieties (doesn't have to be bush or dry beans - I'm interested in snaps, romas, etc. and poles as well) please let me know.
Thanks,
Amanda
Rockwell Heirloom Bush Shell Beans
Hello,
Although I am not interested in the Rockwell beans, I might have something interesting for you: Pisum sativum Blauwschokker. It is a ancient dutch species. You can eat them fresh or let them dry. If you are interested, please have a look at my have list to see if you can find anything else, because I would love to have seeds of Nigella papillosa 'African Bride' and Heliotropium arborescens 'Marine'
Jonna, I do believe you must be a mind reader ;) I’m on the search for purple/blue podded peas. Last year I tried Pisum sativum ‘Capuchijners Soup’ and fell in love. I would most absolutely be interested in the 'Blauwschokker' - you definitely have D-Mail.
