Gordon! We're seeing some great attempts at getting a purple/lavender brug and I do believe it is in the very near future..if not already... But I think green and black would compliment an orange brug nicely as well....hmmmmm.... I'd have to move them out front this time of year as part of Halloween decor.....dream big, people... never know what you'll come up with along the way! I think black would be stunning!

Me to Me to I love black and green as well

Oh Baby... yes... keep my nice green brug out of the hands of the ghouls...we'll give it to the Lepricons.... black indeed ....I always enjoy headdding twards black in flowers.. a great black/red ... or a purple/black..
though black flowers never came across quite right.. ecept maybe the taccas .long whiskers..
I'm sure a black one would have quite a few devotees though.. and be on every satanic altrer . wonder what it might smell like..
It was on page 93 of Preissels book.. where he has pictured a yellow Sanguinea..which is full of green blooms from as he said cooler fall temperatures..

Hi Gordon, I just had a green & pink single bloom this week. It is cross between Painted Lady x Sam. I'm curious as to if this coloration will last, or if it is just an anomaly from a first time bloomer?

I'm anxious to see what your green double looks like when it is fully open.

Hi Paul, as the first two blooms were nearing the end of their life cycle the green turned to cream. Two additional blooms just opened with the same green/pink coloration.

I'll be anxiously awaiting the next bloom cycle to see if the coloration continues. The more I look at it the more I like it.

Gordon, what's the colour look like now?

Fred, I'd have to agree with you. If you can get this trait to come out a bit more and stabilize...I assume your are crossing back to both parents in an attempt to stabilize it already? If not, I can understand as it is easy to take on more projects than one can handle. I have a few myself that I am eagerly awaiting blooms on. I just hope they don't try to steer me to far away from my current goals. Some pure aurea wild specimens will be blooming for me for the first time here in a very short while. I don't expect anything crazy wild, but the next set I have high hopes for. Keep this one around for someone interested in such novelties. I can only imagine that someone down the road will pick this one up and start their own breeding program with it.

I crossed it back and forth to Painted Lady. Sam will be next when it blooms again. I'm anxious to see how the next set of blooms develop.

It is always nice to stumble across something different.

I think it looks very cool. Hope it is stable for you!
