What are these bugs?

East of Nacogdoches, TX(Zone 8a)

These are massed on a cotton plant leaf. The plant and one next to it are very healthy and are producing bolls of cotton. They look like bad boys.

I think these may be Lopidea....Scarlet Plant bugs. I had them on my Mountain Laurels last spring and they ate all the new growth. I posted a pic on the bug ID forum and Claypa knew what they were.

Oops, I didn't think about a abug ID forum. Scarlet Plant bugs, thanks for that info!

I was ready to squash them with gloved hands yesterday when my Golden Retriever, wagging his tail and hitting the plant, dispersed them.
