Another new bird I saw today while walking by the lake. I'm thinking spotted sandpiper in non-breeding plumage... although the Cornell map shows it being here in winter. Perhaps an early migrant?
CLOSED: Water bird
Yep, Spotted Sandpiper, winter or immature plumage.

To add - yes, they do migrate south fairly early. They have mostly left the breeding grounds by late August or early September, so they'd be in the wintering areas by now.

I would to see him with his spots. Oh well!! Thanks!
