This is a question about Champagne Bubbles Artic Poppy.
Most Iceland poppy packages say to allow for light when seeding. i/e. light aids germination. The data bases also suggest that light is helpful.

The package of Champagne Bubbles which I recently purchased from the Stokes seed
people says that this cultivar requires dark.

Champagne Bubbles is said to be a hybrid. What is it a hybrid of?

Naudicale and Oriental?

I am just curious as to why it is different?

Christopher Grey-Wilson in Poppies: The Poppy Family in the Wild and in Cultivation doesn't consider it to be a hybrid; it's just a seed strain in a rather variable species.
Deno doesn't note any sensitivity to light or dark in germination of P. nudicaule.

There's a great deal of misinformation out there.
