chihuahua with seizures

Winter Springs, FL

I have the opportunity to adopt a chihahua that has epilepsy. A lady at work found this dog, most likely dumped off by the original owner becuase of its health condition. That is what we came up with anyways because the dog is so sweet and housebroken too. The lady is bringing her to the vet today for a checkup and to find out about the seizures. Most likely starting on medication. My question is, should I turn this dog down or take a chance on this illness as long as there is nothing else wrong with it? I will find out tomorrow at work what the outcome of the vet visit is. Does anyone know if seizure medication is very expensive? What may be in this dogs future having epilepsy? Any other comments or answers would be great. Thanks, Dawn
