Don't use garden soil in pots. This can lead to disaster. There is danger of soil borne pathogens, eathworms in a pot can damage the roots, the soil is too dense, may settle to the bottom of the pot and block drainage holes and if the soil dries it shrinks from the sides of the pot making it almost impossible to rehydrate the rootball. Carefully wash that mix off the roots and re-pot in good potting soil. I've used MiracleGrow without a problem, but any will do. If the first frost is close, I would go ahead and place the pots where they will be overwintering that way they don't go through two shock periods. You need to get the plants established and the roots growing so they fill the pot as much as possible. If you have at least a month before the first frost, then placing them in the shade outside and slowly get them into morning sun. They would get established and start growth. Don't fertilize, but do use something like SuperThrive to stimulate root growth. I'm emphasizing root growth because the biggest killer of Brugs is root rot. Much more common in a pot full of soil without roots in it to take up the water you pour in the pot.

When is your first frost date on average? How do you plan to overwinter the Brugs you just received?

i plan on keeping them inside .they are about 1 ft tall . so should i keep them in small pots and graduate . im not sure when our first frost date is but im guessing around halloween .

Take a look at the thread starter in this link. The "Y" is located toward the top of the photo.

Every once in a while, instead of two branches being created, the Brug will produce three equal branches. I've seen a photo of one somewhere in the forum, but can't find it right now.
