Please take a look !

I was out today checking my plants. I have two dinnerplate hibiscus. I have posted questions about them before. I noticed something today, and it has me worried. First, one is larger than the other. The larger one is still having a few blooms. The smaller is not, plus it looks sick. I tried to get close enough with the camera to let you see if you can tell whats happening. Maybe its normal at the end of the season or could it really be sick. Can it be saved ? Any suggestions for right now ?
Thanks-Lynda

Dinnerplate hibiscus are winter hardy types, fall comes they get yellow, brown, red, orange, and look really bad. They will die down to the ground and grow back from the roots next May.water when dry for now and plant them in the ground in as much sun as possible.Do NOT cut them back this winter, wait till you see growth at the bottom(ground) next spring. Then cut the dead stems off.

Thanks Kyle,
I'm going to take your advice. Should I mulch them with a thick mulch? And if so, What kind?

I never mulch mine and we are zone 5B just plant water till after a heavy frost then wait till spring. :-)

Lynda, as Kyle said they are preparing for Winter.
The picture shows my 4 dinner plate hibiscus a few minutes ago. Just the label has color in it. This is what you'll have soon.

Thanks Carlos, I'm going to stop worrying and realize you guys have done this much longer than me. I really do appreciate your input. I probably would have thrown it away thinking it was dead.
Thanks again-Case closed.
