Does anyone know if sweet potato vines can be grown indoors as a houseplant?
Sweet Potato Vine as a houseplant?
I don't see why not. Give it a try!
I've grown one before... they grow very well. just get an organic one because they treat most non organic ones with a chemical so they don't sprout. I've herd putting them in half a jar of water works but in my experience its better to just bury a tuber in a large plant pot and wait.
hope this helps,
Julie
I've tried it with the 'purple' one....and it was a spider mite MAGNET!
It was growing in the bathroom, too.
I don't recommend it....but sure, you can give it a try!
I was considering doing the same thing, I pulled up a very large vine yesterday and one of the tubers was huge! I though I might just pot it up and see what happens. maybe I should let it sit for a while to cure what do you think?
I tried to store tubers last year and they rotted before spring
it just seems like a shame to just throw them out
