New babies being greeted by their 11 new brothers and sisters. All getting along! I thought the babies would hide , but they are enjoying their new home and like what they see. They have been following the big ones around checking out all there is to do and see in the pond. So cute!
I think they will love living here!

Great tale, thank you for sharing with us!

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Did those babies get spawned into your pond? Very cute-I love the yellow koi!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Linda, No I purchased them from a lady in town who has zillions in her natural pond. She started with 4 from a neighbor last spring.
Too bad you are so far away as she is selling them for $2-$5 each..you can catch and pick the ones you like. She does not ship them. She is on the look out for me for one she says is just beautiful. Yellow and black. Has not been able to catch it so far!
Road Trip...bring your ice chest! : Hope your fishies are doing better. What a summer you have had!

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Road trip? That is a long haul for fishes. Yellow and black. Ki Utsuri? I love the yellow and blacks. I had two of them this summer . . . Now they are in the great Koi Heaven in the sky. :(

The yellow & black are so colorful zipping through the pond. I am so glad I went back for them.

Here is one of my orange & white and blue one posing nicely tonight!

So, BeaHive is going to be getting into Koi Shipping??!!?? Yippie!!

Just kidding! Your orange and white one is most handsome.

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Yeah BeeHive-I like Willie's idea-I'll send you my address-do you take paypal? LOL!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Wish I could help as these little guys are happy & healthy and did I mention cute to boot!
Fish shipping is not something I need at this point in my life. :)

I am sure she will have plenty left next spring and a whole bunch of new babies.
How about a vacation to Oregon next spring or Summer?Load up the cooler with baby Koi and see the U.S with them tagging along.

Oh that would be fun. Camping with Koi !!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I wonder how much the gas would cost to travel from Buffalo to Oregon? Hmmmmmm

Found this guy under a Gaura bush this morning while pruning.

He must have been just eating. Look at his messy face!
I am so worried. Shortly after taking this picture I was working behind the pond. I stepped, by accident on a big bull frog who was sunnning on a steping stone. He just sat there in shock I think. I picked him up and held him for a while and then he hopped into the pond. I am a little person (120 lbs on a good day) I sure hope I didn't do any internal damage. I feel so bad , but I did not see him. :(
