Hibiscus problems

Winter Springs, FL

I have a question about a hibiscus with a problem. I sold 5 hibiscus to someone and one of them, it is called Little Tiger, keeps dropping its leaves. They grow, turn yellow and drop. She feeds them with miracle grow and doesn't let the soil dry completely. She says it is still flowering like crazy. None of the others have this problem. She has them all in seperate large pots. Does anyone know what it might be? Sorry I don't have a picture to post. Thanks, Dawn

Do you still have Little Tiger? I believe its hybridizer is looking for wood of it (and more of his varieties).
Not sure what can happen. Miracle Grow is not recommend for hibiscus as it has high level of potassium. It is good to have more flowers but the plant does not assimilate (I know this is not the right word but my memory forgot the correct word) well potassium through the roots and salt is formed around the roots so the plant can not look healthy.

Carlos. Thanks for the advise. I do have a couple small ones of my own. I was going to plant them in the ground.

Very bad advise indeed. Where I had my mind? Forget the word potassium. It is phosphorus what hibiscus do not like.
Is this the same plant you have? The picture is not mine but since it is very old I guess the owner, if it is known, do not mind.

Hi Carlos,
I have to agree on some of the miracle grow products but miracle grow puts out a generel purpose that is 24-8-16 and many people are use it here with their hybrids and getting excellent results.

Hi Carlos. The flowers from the Little Tiger I have are just a faint orange color with no yellow border.
