Dancing Ladies Ginger wilting

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

A few weeks ago I bought a Dancing Ladies Ginger from a local nursery. I finally got around to repotting it. I took some out and put them in the ground and gave a few away. I also planted some in a flower pot.

BUT it's all limpy and wilty looking. What is wrong? And will it recover?

I am so sad... :(

I suspect it's just a bit of transplant shock--I would guess your weather is still pretty warm which can make that worse, but even if it's cooled off a bit plants can still be a bit droopy when they're first planted. Even with the ones in the pot, chances are their roots were disturbed a bit in the process of repotting so they could suffer transplant shock too.

OK. Thanks for the re-assurance. I feel a little bit better.

Just make sure to be careful on the watering--don't just water because you see them wilting, stick your finger down in the soil and make sure it's not still really wet before you give them more. But make sure you don't let them dry out too much either.

OK. Thanks for that info.
