Last year around this time I remember a post about Junco's are here and poof it was winter! Has anybody seen a Junco yet? Keeping fingers crossed for no's ;)
Junco's?
LOL, please no not yet. Maybe that was burn?
Actually I think it was you that made a post "The Juncos are here". Made a lasting impression!! I never paid attention to that before, now everyday I am checking the feeders for them!! It's that time of year. So sad! Time to put the gardens to bed, no pun intended.
I remember the post, but it was definitely later...probably late October into November is when must of us start to see them show show up.
Found it!! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/782927/

Oh Thank Goodness. Boy you guys have good memorys!
Cold weather made me think about it. I told you that the thread made an impression!!
We've had cold nights, so starting to think of winter too. Actually posted a few pic of last year snow, so I can start adjusting to the cold, but no Juncos yet, so must mean I'm safe for a little while longer. LoL
That's what I'm thinkin'!! Looking for those buggers everyday now.......dreading seeing them. But I do enjoy them. I guess there is no making me happy!! ;o)
I just heard on the listserv that there in the mountains of northern jersey!!
new jersey has mountains? LOL.
I know that Gary has them up in Alaska right?
Juncos are in the mountains of New Jersey???? They are on their way!! I guess winter is going to happen whether or not I want it to!! I told my husband last night if he really loved me he would do something about it. He said "yeah right, now what do you really want"? I want to garden, drink coffee and sit on the deck and watch the birds, that's what! I guess making a snowman this winter will be fun...I'm rambling and not making sense I guess it's time to go.
Debby
LOL, yea we sorta have some mountains.
Yes, Mrs Ed is correct, we have Juncos year round. But, winter is on the way. The snow is down to about the 1500 foot level on the mountains. The long range weather forecast is for flurries, by the first of next week!
Bite your tongue there!!
