Well with all this talk of chicks hatching my envying stuck up chicken brat came out and said HUH they got chicks i'm going to fix my Bator.
Well i've got a Brower top hatch love everything about it but the thermostat so with the talk about dimmers i thought i would just try to fix mine with the one i had bought to make a bater.
In the pic you will see the bottom i have the dimmer hooked up and the turner is running and the fan and the light is working it uses candlelabra bulbs.
My question is what do i do with the ground wire i have no idea what to do with it please help??
It's the green wire i'm pointing at
Need help with fixing my Bater
If nobody else knows I will ask Kelly when I get home. He's an eggspert on electrical stuff and wires. I am clueless. He will know for sure what to do with the ground wire. He knows that stuff like he knows the alphabet.
Thanks Claire i'll be waiting
It should be attached to a screw or something which goes into plastic. those generally attach to the framing around things or get connected with the white wire, as that is also similar to a ground. Look for something that is non conductive non flammable -like the screws that hold those other parts in place. The green is only for a safe place to dissipate excess so either back to the source (w/ white wire) or metal in non-conductive housing (screw that holds plastic plate to other plastic do-jobber).
Thanks Grow what a life saver there are screws on the plastic bottom i will attach it to that.
THANK YOU
Soon as i get this up and going i'm going to find some eggs. Anybody got too many? LOL
As long as it doesn't conduct electricity to something you're OK. It normally shouldn't have any charge anyway.
Got it grounded to one of the screws that holds on the plastic bottom. It's up and runnin i really hope this dimmer works cause the original thermostat took me 2 weeks to set it and then it would crap out on me and shoot up or down i almost had to sleep with it to make sure it was heating right.
Love the turner and the fan and it's all plastic and so easy to clean but that thermostat "no"
