Bees on Cowpen Daisy

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I found these tiny little bees huddled on a Cowpen Daisy bloom yesterday morning. Does anyone know what kind they are? I hope they're natives.

I don't know what kind of bees they are, but it shows you what an excellent pollen plant it is.

They're not European honeybees. BTW, what do Cowpen Daisy seeds look like? I collected some seeds from a plant I saw in front of a local dollar store. But I'm not sure it was Cowpen Daisy.

They are very similar to Frostweed seeds.

This is what my seeds look like. I thought I had taken a picture of the plant, but I can't find it.

Linda I check my seeds and that is what they look like.

Oh, good! I really like the look of that plant.

Linda, I think you will very quickly fall in love with Cowpen Daisy. The first time I saw one was November 2006 at a park in Colorado City (just west of Abilene). All the daisies were bursting with blooms and covered with several different types of butterflies, and this in an area that gets very little rainfall. I knew I had to have one! I love plants that thrive on being left alone.

What happy bees you have, Carla :0)

I keep seeing a small yellow daisy blooming where it seems impossible for anything else to grow, like in the cracks of hard earth along the side of the highways, would those happen to be cowpen daisies?
